Happy MLK day. To my surprise a few years back, I discovered that the representatives of the empire that MLK denounced now own his speeches. One of the conference speeches Rev. Jim Bevel was giving that was on how he organized the youth protests featured a very short clip of MLK, Jr. speaking which brought a copyright strike and the muting of the entire video. The culprit was the British tech giant EMI Records (Electric and Musical Industries Ltd.) which owns the copyright to all of MLK, Jr.'s speeches. It forced me to remove the King speech in order to avoid a copyright strike which is ironic as hell given that if a person who worked with King and was there the day he got assassinated can't play a speech by his former associate, then you know something is seriously wrong with the universe.
