The special guest at the conference was Cecilia Atim-Ogwal, a member of the Ugandan Parliament, and the former chairman of the Interim Executive Council of the Ugandan People’s Congress. Mrs. Atim-Ogwal led the opposition in Uganda to Museveni, who has banned all political parties in the country except his own, the National Resistance Movement (NRM). Dokolo woman member of parliament Cecilia Atim Ogwal has said during these 32 years of President Museveni’s rule, she has survived 12 attempts on her life.
